AI Policy and Procedure

AI Work Group

The college-wide AI Work Group is the primary governance body developing the college's response to the rapid spread of artificial intelligence. 

The group has three key responsibilities:

• Strategy - develop a college-wide approach to  supporting the college mission, vision, and values in an AI-supported society;

• Policy - create appropriate policies to govern AI use in accordance with regulatory guidelines and best practice;

• Process and procedure - develop new or recommend updates to existing processes and procedures to ensure effective and appropriate use of AI in college activities.

The Work Group reports to the Chief Information Officer. Each year, it stands up subcommittees to address specific initiatives. The subcommittees include faculty, staff, and student representatives from across the college. 

Current subcommittees are:

• AI and Academic Integrity

• AI Literacy

• Business Process Improvement

• Pilots and Experimentation

• Teaching and Learning

The AI Work Group Co-chairs are:

• Tim Wrye, Chief Information Officer

• Liz Word, Dean of Academic Services & Transfer Pathways

• Marc Lentini, Director of Educational Technology

• Ty Torres, Associate Director of Community & Student Conduct
